How can you protect yourself against salmonella?Updated 12 days ago

Salmonella is a harmful bacteria commonly found in raw animal-based foods, such as:

  • Poultry

  • Eggs and raw egg products (e.g. mayonnaise, desserts)

  • Raw meat and unpasteurized dairy

Here’s how to stay safe while cooking, especially when using your A by AMC cookware:

Safe Egg Handling

  • Use eggs that are no older than 5 days when preparing raw egg dishes (like tiramisu or mayo).

  • Refrigerate immediately and consume within one day.

  • Always wash hands and utensils thoroughly after handling raw eggs.

Handling Raw Meat, Poultry & Fish

  • Clean all knives, cutting boards, and surfaces with hot water and detergent after contact with raw animal products.

  • Never prepare salads or raw vegetables on the same surface used for raw meat or eggs.

  • Always cook thoroughly:

    • Poultry, ground meat, and fish must reach an internal temperature of at least 158 °F (70 °C) to ensure any Salmonella is destroyed.

A by AMC Tip: Use the Audiotherm with Visiotherm to monitor your food.
